St James Bay Golf Club

St James Bay Golf Club, situated along Florida's northwest Gulf coast, is an 18-hole Robert Walker design where accuracy and course management matter more than raw power. Fairways are generous, but missing them is costly, and the Gulf breezes regularly add or subtract a club depending on the hole's orientation. From the tips the course measures 6,600 yards, yet plays longer than that figure suggests. The layout winds through native vegetation and wetlands, each hole tucked away from the others to create a genuine sense of seclusion. Risk-reward opportunities appear on nearly every hole, and while long hitters can press their advantage on the shorter par fives, consistent ball-striking wins out in the end. There are no weak holes in the routing. The 9th is a dogleg right around a lake, the 12th a well-framed par four, and the 5th and 16th stand out as complete, demanding golf holes in their own right.
