Rusutsu Resort Golf 72 (Izumikawa) is a hillside 18-hole layout in Rusutsu, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, that plays remarkably flat — the steepest elevation change on the course is just 17 metres on the downhill 14th. The front nine opens with a par 5 played toward the Tower Hotel, setting an open, resort feel from the first tee. The 6th is a short hole with a green surrounded by water, and the 9th demands attention with a sharp 90-degree dogleg to the right. The back nine starts with a gently uphill par 4 and features more straight-running holes than the front. The round closes on the 18th, a wide fairway stretching over 50 metres across — a fitting finish that invites a bold, free-swinging shot.
