Monbetsu Country Club

Monbetsu Country Club is a 27-hole hillside and woodland course in Mombetsu, Hokkaido Prefecture, set across the gently rolling terrain that borders the Sea of Okhotsk. The layout makes good use of the mild natural contours, keeping large elevation changes to a minimum while routing each hole through corridors of birch and Ezo spruce. Along the 3rd hole, a native willow forest lines the banks of a river, offering one of the more scenic stretches on the course. Variety is built into the design throughout: the 1st hole plays as a right dogleg, the 2nd offers a gentle downhill tee shot, the 8th bends left, and the 9th finishes with an uphill approach.
