Kitami Herb Hill Golf Club is an 18-hole hillside course set on a gentle plateau overlooking the city of Kitami in Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan. The layout offers two distinct personalities. The front nine winds through wooded areas, giving it a woodland feel with plenty of greenery. The back nine shifts to a Scottish-links character, with tall rough grasses separating holes across open heathland. The wide spacing between fairways makes for a relaxed, open playing experience, though some intervals between holes are longer than usual. The standout hole is the 16th, a long par 5 with a large pond directly in front of the tee. Strategy matters here: playing right opens up the fairway but lengthens the approach, while the left side offers a better angle for reaching the green in two but narrows considerably. It is a hole that rewards smart course management over raw power.
