Fota Island Resort (Deerpark)

Fota Island Resort (Deerpark) is an 18-hole, par-71 resort course in County Cork, Ireland, designed by Christy O'Connor Jr., Peter McEvoy, and Jeff Howes and opened in 1993. It stretches to 6,488 yards through woodlands of tall oak trees, with vistas that shape the character of the round. The 18th is the course's signature hole. Rated 4.7 by 100+ Hole19 golfers, it is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in County Cork. The course has hosted the Irish Open three times — in 2001, 2002, and 2014. Practice facilities include two USGA spec outdoor driving tees, a USGA spec putting green, an indoor putting green for use during inclement weather, and three USGA spec chipping greens. The Fota Island Golf Academy provides covered bays, two teaching rooms with video and computer systems, and TrackMan analysis. The Pro Shop is extensively equipped with apparel, accessories, and equipment from well-known golf brands. The Clubhouse restaurant occupies a creative conversion of old stone farm buildings and serves an extensive menu with classic dishes emphasising local organic produce, including Irish Artisan pizza made with traditional homemade sourdough.
