Description
Cork Golf Club, a parkland course in County Cork, Ireland, was designed by Alister MacKenzie and opened in 1888. MacKenzie's hand is visible across the layout in its free-form bunkers, substantial contouring, and undulating greens — hallmarks of his design approach. The terrain is shaped by limestone quarries and a heath-like playing surface that gives the course a distinctive character among Irish parkland tracks. The club has hosted the Irish Open, the Irish Professional Open 1932, and the Irish Amateur Close Championship 1933. It was named best parkland course in Munster in 2012 and 2013, and holds a Golfers' Choice Recommended Certificate from 2018. Rated 4.7 by 90+ Hole19 golfers. The 19th Hole Hospitality restaurant provides dining using top-quality local produce, with service extending to the adjacent bar.
