Clube de Golfe da Quinta das Lágrimas

Clube de Golfe da Quinta das Lágrimas opened in Coimbra in 1999, developed by the Quinta das Lágrimas group with support from João Lagos Sport. The aim was to bring golf to a city that had largely been kept at a distance from the sport, widening access for residents with little or no prior experience of the game. The facility launched first with a Driving Range, followed by a Pitch and Putt, and quickly found an audience. From the outset it attracted beginners discovering golf for the first time as well as established players from the wider Centro region. The 9-hole course continues to serve as an accessible entry point into golf in Coimbra.
