Oporto Golf Club

Oporto Golf Club, located in Espinho in Portugal's Aveiro District, is one of the oldest golf courses in Continental Europe, inaugurated in 1890. Its first President, Charles Neville Skeffington, lent his name to the Skeffington Cup — the oldest uninterrupted competition in the history of golf still played today. The 18-hole layout is a classic links measuring 5,668 metres with a par of 71. The opening hole, typically played into a prevailing north wind, sets a demanding tone early. The sixth is a short par 4 requiring a precise pitch to a raised, narrow green, followed by a dogleg left that demands two powerful and accurate shots.
