The layout plays across gentle terrain that includes areas of both scientific and geological special interest. Practice facilities are thorough: a driving range over 300 yards long and 90 yards wide with a practice bunker, a chipping green, and five target greens configurable as a 6-hole par-three course for beginners. PGA Professional Gary Shipley runs taster sessions and beginner coaching on site. The clubhouse occupies a converted 19th-century residence. The bar is open to members and visitors, and an adjacent restaurant area includes a private room available for business meetings or golf societies.
