Royal Antwerp Golf Club (Tom Simpson)

Royal Antwerp Golf Club (Tom Simpson) is home to Belgium's oldest golf club, founded in 1888, with its current layout in the Kapellenbos north of Antwerp established in 1912. Rated 4.8 by Hole19 golfers, it ranks among the finest wooded heathland courses in north-west Europe. The course is built on excellent sandy soil, with heather and mature pine trees lining the fairways across 18 holes that stretch beyond 6,600 yards from the back tees. The terrain is relatively flat, making for easy walking, though the tree-lined corridors and extensive bunkering demand precision throughout. The greens are typically fast and immaculate, making up-and-downs a genuine test. Water comes into play on only a couple of holes, so it is largely a course won or lost through placement and short-game skill rather than power off the tee.
