Royal Antwerp Golf Club (Dormy House)

Royal Antwerp Golf Club (Dormy House) is a 9-hole layout set within the historic Kapellenbos forest north of Antwerp, part of Belgium's oldest golf club, which dates to 1888. The current site in Kapellen, Flanders, has been in use since 1912. The course is built on excellent sandy soil and is lined throughout by heather and mature pine trees — a classic wooded heathland setting that ranks among the finest of its kind in north-west Europe. The terrain is relatively flat, making for easy walking, though the challenge is genuine: staying clear of the trees, navigating plentiful bunkers, and converting on fast, immaculate greens demands consistent play. Water features rarely come into play, appearing on only a couple of holes. From the back tees the course stretches beyond 6,600 yards, which plays long for most golfers, particularly when wind moves through the pines. Crucially, it rewards accurate iron play over power — a booming drive is not required on every hole.
