Metropolis Country Club

Hole 6 at Metropolis Country Club has been recognized by golf publications as one of the best holes in the Metropolitan area and among the 500 best holes worldwide — a mark of the quality that runs through this private 18-hole layout in Hartsdale, New York. Designed by Herbert Strong and A.W. Tillinghast and opened in 1904, the course plays to a par of 70 across 5,074–6,878 yards. The layout works through doglegs, canted fairways, uneven lies, undulating greens, changes of topography, stone walls, and water features. Metropolis has hosted the 2024 U.S. Senior Open Qualifier, multiple USGA sectional qualifiers, and is scheduled to host a 2026 U.S. Open Qualifier, alongside every major regional professional and amateur championship. Practice facilities include a full-length driving range with natural grass and covered artificial turf, a putting green, and a 45,000 sq. ft. short game facility with two greens, practice bunkers, and pitching and chipping space. Instruction is available from teaching professionals including CJ Reeves, an LPGA top 50 instructor. The Main Dining Room seats 175–225 guests, with terrace seating for up to 300. The Bar Room accommodates 40–80 with large-screen TVs, and a 19th Hole outdoor bar overlooks the 18th green.
