Kiawah Island Golf Resort (Ocean), on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, has hosted the 1991 Ryder Cup, the 2012 PGA Championship, the 2021 PGA Championship, and is scheduled to host the 2031 PGA Championship — a tournament record few courses in the United States can match. Designed by Pete and Alice Dye, the 18-hole, par-72 layout runs along the Atlantic Ocean through dunes and natural sand areas. Hole 1 sets the tone immediately: one of the narrowest fairways on the course, with a natural sand area along the right side and dune grass on the left. The course is ranked #4 Public Golf Course in the U.S. and 25th among the 100 Greatest U.S. Golf Courses, and is rated 5.0 by 60+ Hole19 golfers — one of the most-played courses in South Carolina on Hole19. Practice options include unlimited use of The Ocean Course driving range and The Golf Learning Center, which offers private instruction, group lessons, and family and junior programs.
