Jekyll Island Golf Club (Indian Mound)

Jekyll Island Golf Club (Indian Mound) is an 18-hole layout in Georgia, designed by Joe Lee and opened in 1975. Lee's trademark fairway bunkers appear throughout, placed in positions that demand careful shot selection and course management. Though it is the shortest of Jekyll Island's three 18-hole courses, Indian Mound plays tougher than its yardage implies. The par 5s present more difficulty than the scorecard suggests, and only one of the par 3s offers a straightforward opportunity. The par 4s, however, reward golfers who can control their approach shots and capitalize on shorter shots into the greens. The course routes through the island's natural woodlands, keeping the surroundings firmly in play and adding character to nearly every hole.
