  I took my son and a friend to play at Crook Golf Club, expecting a pleasant day on the course, but our experience was severely degraded by the unacceptable behavior of the course marshal. ​Approximately one hour into our round, while on the fifth hole, the marshal confronted us to assert that we were playing too slowly and ought to have reached the ninth hole by that point. He completely disregarded our explanation that we had courteously stepped aside to let two single players play through—a courtesy that naturally added a few minutes to our pace. Rather than managing the situation professionally, he was dismissive and bluntly stated that the course was not intended for beginners and that we should not be playing there. ​His hostile, unprofessional demeanour completely ruined our visit. Having played numerous courses without issue, I have never encountered such poor customer service or deliberate discourtesy toward visitors. It is deeply disappointing to see a club permit staff to treat paying guests with such condescension, and we will not be returning.

  Quirky and enjoyable some bunkers need some TLC or failing that some sand. The marshal came round with free water bottles. Top Man with blind holes, one needs to play it twice to kn8w what you're doing. Well worth the money.

  Course in great condition, some really interesting holes, and great value for money.
