Benamor Golf

Benamor Golf is a public 18-hole course in the Algarve, Portugal, designed by Sir Henry Cotton and opened in 2000. It plays to par 71 over 5,456–6,100 yards. The layout is undulating, framed by mountains to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South. Olive, cork, carob, fig and almond trees line the fairways, with water hazards and sand bunkers throughout the routing. Holes 5 and 6 stand out — hole 5 is rated the second hardest on the course, while hole 6 is considered one of its best par 4s. The course has hosted a number of recurring tournaments, including the Scandinavian Vini Cup Tournament, the Benamor Classic Golf Tournament, and the VI Charity Tournament Portuguese Red Cross Tavira. Practice facilities include a driving range with 16 mats and a practice grass area with target flags and distance markers, a chipping and pitching green with a practice bunker, and golf lessons for all skill levels certified by Golf Teacher Miguel Ribeiro.
