Woodward Golf & Country Club is a semi-private course in Alabama, United States, open to members and guests since 1916. Designed by Charlie Hall, the 18-hole layout plays to a par of 71 across yardages ranging from 5,300 to 6,500 yards over natural, flowing terrain. The club has hosted amateur and local junior tournaments sponsored by the Alabama Golf Association, US Kids tournaments, Birmingham Golf Association tournaments, Ladies Birmingham Golf Association tournaments, corporate outings, and charity fundraisers. A driving range is open to all members and guests, and Golf Professional Jeremy Kutsch provides lessons for juniors through seasoned golfers. The Pro Shop operates on summer hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Clubhouse amenities include a Grill running from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, personal lockers, a card room, a banquet room, and stocked lakes for fishing.

George FergusonSeptember 16, 2016Woodward golf course is one hundred years old this year 2016.It has been modified several times over the years.big tall pines and hardwoods line most of the fairways.Woodward has Bermuda fairways and greens,a short course with beautiful fairways and greens,most greens are on the small side.summer time produces thick Bermuda rough ,being in the fairway is a premium! a short but very challenging course!five lakes dot the course with water coming into play 6 holes. numerous fairway and green side bunkers will test . your skills.woodward is a great examples that a course doesn't have to play super long to be a test of your golfing skills.a semi public course at very reasonable fees two blocks off I59/20 between Birmingham and Bessemer, alabama.if you are in the area give it a try !!
