Description
Wilshire Country Club is a private 18-hole links course in Los Angeles, California, designed by Norman Macbeth and opened in 1920. The layout plays across rolling, hilly terrain cut by a natural stream and barrancas — the dry ravines that define the course's character and come into sharp focus on holes 16 and 18. The Barranca Bar, located in the men's locker room and finished with hand-carved oak-paneled walls, takes its name directly from this feature. Wilshire has hosted the 1928 L.A. Open, the 1931 L.A. Open, the 1950 Macbeth Invitational, and the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro. A dedicated driving range is available to members.

Paul ImMay 13, 2016Wilshire CC is a private club located in the heart of mid city Los Angeles. The course is immaculately maintained but the Club requires caddies for all players, even for guest play. The Hollywood Hills and sign serve as the backdrop to what amounts to a spectacular private course held back in time by antiquated value and traditions.
