Westport Golf Club

Westport Golf Club, designed by Fred W. Hawtree and opened in 1973, sits in an elevated position above Clew Bay in County Mayo, Ireland. The 18-hole parkland layout runs partly inland and partly alongside the sea, stretching to 6,980 yards. Hole 12, a Par 3 known as Roman Island, is the course's signature hole. The club has hosted the Irish Amateur Close Championship, Smurfit Irish PGA Championship, Irish Ladies Close, Ladies Home Internationals, and AIG Cups & Shields All-Ireland Finals. Practice facilities include an undulating putting green with six holes cut to match regulation green speed, and a double-bunkered chipping green with two unique pin positions. The Renaissance at Westport Golf Club restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and snack menus with daily specials, and takes in panoramic views of the 9th and 18th holes, Croagh Patrick, Clew Bay, and Clare Island. Golf clubs and balls are available for hire from the pro shop, and from the bar outside shop hours. Westport Golf Club is semi-private.
