Watertown Golf Club

Watertown Golf Club is a members-only 18-hole course set in Connecticut's lower Litchfield County, with a history stretching back to 1898. The course traces its origins to an estate belonging to Horace Taft, founder of The Taft School, where the first nine holes were laid out. In 1915, those holes moved to the school grounds and Watertown Golf Club was formally established. A second nine holes and a clubhouse followed in 1931, completing the full 18-hole layout just north of the Taft School grounds. Between 1971 and 1973, nine more holes were crafted into the rolling hills to the north and across West Road, while the Taft School converted the original nine into athletic fields. The result is an exciting, challenging, and scenic course shaped by more than a century of gradual development across varied terrain.
