Urbana Country Club

Urbana Country Club in Ohio holds a unique place in golf history as the first course ever built by the Dye family. In 1922, Paul F. Dye — father of celebrated architect Pete Dye — designed and constructed this 18-hole layout, his one and only course, featuring picturesque views and a challenging design. Pete Dye himself began his legendary connection to golf here, working as the course superintendent before heading off to college. Decades later, the family legacy continued when P.B. Dye, Pete's son, added an additional nine holes in 1992 and carefully restored the original nine. Today, Urbana Country Club stands as a living piece of golf heritage — the preserved origin of one of the sport's most influential design families.
