The layout moves through native prairie grasses, picturesque wetlands, and 27 bodies of water, with mature oak, spruce and pine trees framing rolling terrain, elevated greens, and native area bunkers. Hole 7 carries Palmer's signature beach bunker. Golf Digest has honored the course multiple times among the top 20 golf courses in Minnesota, and it has hosted the 3M Open.
