Tor Hill Golf Course

Tor Hill Golf Course carries a distinguished pedigree: legendary architect Stanley Thompson, responsible for Banff Springs and Jasper, drew up the original plans in 1928. The course was built in 1931 with sand greens, and while Thompson's original blueprints were eventually lost, superior grass greens and bunkers have been added over the decades to shape the 27-hole layout it is today. The natural terrain is considered among the finest for golf in Saskatchewan, and the course lives up to that reputation with a series of demanding holes. The most challenging is the 240-yard 4th, which demands a carry of 180 to 190 yards over water directly off the tee. A bailout strip of fairway runs to the right of the hazard, but out of bounds lines the entire right side, making it a risky alternative. The hourglass-shaped green is small, slopes back to front, and is guarded by bunkers — a bogey here is a score to take.
