This wonderful old course has recently finished it's controversial redesign before the opening of the hotel next year. I have to say I was disappointed having traveled with huge expectation. The opening two holes are poor with the opening fairway being large enough to land a jumbo jet. Hole 2 is a featureless slog and then you get in to a wonderful course with only one other weak hole - the par 3 14th. No great course should have a weak hole let alone 3. Don't be put off though - it is a beautiful place to play golf.
