Description
The Country Club of Virginia (James River) plays 18 holes across a layout designed by William Flynn and opened in 1928, in Tuckahoe, Virginia, United States. The course runs through trees and hills, with bunkers, a creek, and a lake shaping play throughout the routing. Hole 4 is a par three where the putting surface narrows and a creek feeds into a greenside lake directly in front of the green. Golf Digest recognized the course as one of America's best newly remodeled courses of 2005 and ranked it among the best in Virginia for 2007–2008. The club has hosted the 1955 and 1975 USGA Men's Amateur Championships, as well as the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. Access is private.
