Flat terrain, large contoured greens, water hazards, sand bunkers, and tree-lined corridors define the layout at St Andrews Golf & Country Club (St Andrews), an 18-hole public course in Illinois, United States, designed by John McGregor of the Chicago Golf Club and opened in 1926. The course stretches to 6,920 yards from the championship tees. Hole 2 is a long par 4 measuring 448 yards, framed by large greenside bunkers. Hole 4 is the finishing hole, a par 4 with a water hazard running along the fairway on the right side. The course hosted a US Open Qualifier in 1947 and is rated 4.4 by Hole19 golfers, making it one of the most-played courses in Illinois on Hole19. Practice facilities include a driving range with 20 sheltered and individually heated hitting bays, over 80 grass tees, Toptracer Range, and lights. A short game area provides five target greens with target fairways and two chipping greens, plus a putting green. Five teaching professionals offer private lessons, and No Embarrassment Golf Schools cover group instruction. The pro shop is fully stocked with hard goods and offers a custom club fitting program.
