South Downs Country Club

South Downs Country Club sits in the southern suburbs of Johannesburg South, set among koppies and surrounded by generous birdlife. The 18-hole parklands-style layout was originally designed in 1934 by Bobby Verwey and has since undergone a transformation of its routing. The Bloubos Spruit winds through the course, feeding a series of water features that define much of the challenge. The signature par-3 5th hole is the clearest expression of this theme, with water surrounding nearly the entire hole. The clubhouse has been upgraded and offers a comfortable finish to a round that balances challenge with enjoyment.
