Shonan Country Club

Shonan Country Club is a 36-hole hillside course in Chigasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, offering two distinct nines with their own challenges. The front nine features generous fairways, but subtle undulation keeps play demanding throughout. Uphill and downhill shots combine with dogleg holes to require constant attention. The greens are well-maintained and receptive, rewarding clean ball-striking. A woodland atmosphere runs through the layout, giving the course a calm, tree-lined character. The back nine is more exposed to the elements, particularly in summer. Holes 10 through 13 play directly into the prevailing headwind, making them play considerably longer than the yardage suggests. The greens here are raised and slightly tilted back toward the player, adding another layer of difficulty to approach play.
