Shoal Creek Golf Course has hosted the Central Links Junior Championship, the Midwest PGA Senior/Junior/Assistant Championship, and the Watson Challenge, giving this public 18-hole layout in Kansas City, Missouri a track record that goes beyond everyday play. Designed by Steve Wolford and opened in 2001, the course plays to a par of 71 over 6,950–6,952 yards across terrain marked by elevation changes. Golf Week has ranked it the #2 public course in Missouri in its America's Best You Can Play list, Golf Digest awarded it 4 stars in Best Places to Play, Tee-Times Golf Guide rated it 5 stars in the KC Metro area, and the Golf Card Traveler ranked it #1 public course in Missouri. It is a popular round among Hole19 golfers in Missouri. Practice options include a short game area with an approach zone and a large bunker for sand play, plus group, ladies', and junior lessons covering fundamentals through club fitting. The 11,000 sq. ft. clubhouse includes the Players Grill dining area and a golf shop.

I don’t feel like writing the novel that I could about this course, so I’ll just bullet point it. - Overpriced for a trash course/cow pasture. -These clowns want to charge for range balls before your PAID round. Trashy. - The grill is gross, but at least the girl behind the counter is nice while she charges you three dollars for a glass of ice with a splash of Pepsi. - They had the audacity to say that you can’t drive in the “native” area, as if there was a big difference between the “native” area and the overgrown rough. - They had the mowers out in the morning. I kid you not, these clowns don’t even know when to mow. - I think the one word summary for this course is Contempt. Contempt for the players and contempt for the game. Greed would have been my second choice. Even paradise point, which is in even worse condition, would be better bcz at least they accept who they are and charge accordingly. Cheap and trashy course for a cheap and trashy price. **Oh, and paradise pointe at least earns you that there will be no beverage cart. Shoal Creek doesn’t bother. It’s that contempt for the players thing.

Gary WilsonJune 11, 2017Consistent with all courses in the KC area this year some repairs being done in the fairways. Rough was tall. Greens in really good shape. Always like playing this course just wish it was a little closer to my home.
