Shibetsu Doyukai Country Club

Shibetsu Doyukai Country Club is an 18-hole hillside course on the outskirts of Shibetsu in Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, built around a varied layout of uphill and downhill holes. The opening hole plays downhill with out-of-bounds right and a fairway that tilts to the left. The 2nd is a short hole played over water, while the 9th presents one of the course's tougher challenges — the tee sits within dense woodland, and the shot must carry both uphill and over a pond. The narrow feel off the tee on that hole is a direct result of the thick trees surrounding it. The back nine was added later but maintains the same character, mixing uphill and downhill terrain throughout to keep the round varied from start to finish.
