Shangri-La's Hambantota Resort & Spa

Rated highly by Hole19 golfers, Shangri-La's Hambantota Resort & Spa is an 18-hole resort course in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka, designed by Rodney Wright. It plays to par 70 across a yardage range of 4,424 to 6,107 yards. The layout moves through a coconut plantation and past a sapphire mine, with lakes, sand dunes, and Indian Ocean views shaping the back end of the round. Hole 7, Dogen's Revenge, is a par 5 with water surrounding. Hole 11, Elephant Trail, is the longest hole, with a series of lakes along the left. Hole 15, The Viper, is a double dogleg par 5 that snakes up a sand dune. Holes 16 and 17 bring players to the ocean, with hole 16 delivering the first ocean view from atop the dune and hole 17 running alongside it as a long par 4. A putting green and practice net are available on site. The Ulpatha restaurant serves local and international snacks and dishes alongside beers, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks. The pro shop stocks premium equipment, caps, polos, shoes, and sunglasses.
