Sawgrass Country Club

Sawgrass Country Club courses underwent a Master Golf Renovation project that began in May 2013. The renovation of the East nine and West nine was completed and the final South nine course was completed in the Fall of 2015. The East-West course formerly hosted The Players Championship tournament from 1977 to 1981 prior to the tournament moving to its present location. The Sawgrass Country Club courses were renovated as part of the club's master plan to refurbish the golf course infrastructure. All the fairways, tees and bunkers are part of the renovation project. Substantial improvement work will be done on other areas of the golf course, including the bridges, drainage, cart paths, bulkheads and the irrigation system. The greens renovation is planned for the future. The golf course, now with 27 holes, was designed by noted Arnold Palmer Course Design architect, Ed Seay. Through the years, Sawgrass has been consistently recognized as one of the finest courses in the country.
