Satsuki Golf Club Ryuo

Satsuki Golf Club Ryuo is an 18-hole mountain course set on the slopes of Ryuo Mountain in Iizuka, Fukuoka Prefecture, sitting 2–3 degrees cooler than the surrounding lowlands and offering a welcome escape during summer. Elevation changes between holes are a defining feature, though individual holes tend to play relatively flat. The layout is compact and tricky, demanding precise shot-making and careful wind management rather than raw distance. Standout holes include the opening hole on the front nine, a dramatic downhill drive, and the short par-4 4th, where a pond guards the right side. The 13th on the back nine is a left dogleg that rewards the correct line — miss it and a left OB awaits anyone attempting an ill-judged shortcut. Greens add further challenge throughout, with notable two-tier surfaces on the 7th and 12th requiring sharp course management.
