Sand Valley Golf Resort (The Lido)

Sand Valley Golf Resort (The Lido) is a recreation of one of golf's great lost courses, originally designed by C.B. Macdonald and opened on Long Island in 1914. Macdonald's original Lido Golf Club drew on his signature template holes — including the Alps, Redan, and Eden — and was regarded by many contemporaries as the equal of Pine Valley and Macdonald's own National Golf Links. The course was demolished after the U.S. Navy acquired the property for use as a military base during World War II, leaving The Lido as one of the most lamented disappearances in golf history. This 18-hole layout in Wisconsin brings that lost design back to life, offering golfers the chance to experience a course that existed only in memory and imagination for decades.
