River Pointe Golf Club

River Pointe Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Georgia, designed by architect Mike Young and opened in 1995. Atlanta Golf Magazine has recognized it as a top-tier layout, and it earned the "Best of the Best" distinction among Albany-area courses for four consecutive years. Water comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes. The front nine plays in a traditional style, while the back nine winds through wetlands where shot accuracy is at a premium. Greens are surfaced with Tift Dwarf Bermuda and fairways with 419 Bermuda grass. Wildlife is a regular presence — deer, turkey, fox, geese, otter, alligators, and a variety of birds can all appear during a round. The signature hole is the par-5 14th, stretching 610 yards with water running down the left side and guarding the front of the green. The course is open year-round, with weekend reservations recommended. Practice facilities include a driving range and putting green.
