Prospect Bay Country Club

The par-5 18th hole at Prospect Bay Country Club sets the tone for what this private 18-hole layout in Maryland, United States, asks of its members: 612 yards, a dogleg left, a narrow landing area off the tee, and an island green guarded by four large bunkers. Opened in 1978, the course plays to over 6,800 yards with turtleback greens and tight fairways throughout. It has hosted the 1991 Maryland Open, the Towson Golf Men's Invitational, and the Division-1 Women's Inter-Collegiate. Practice facilities include a driving range with six target greens from 60 to 230 yards, two grass teeing areas, a fairway bunker, and mats. Two putting greens are positioned at the golf shop and the clubhouse, and a short-game area covers chip and pitch shots from up to 75 yards to a large green with three targets flanked by bunkers. Lessons are available from the Head PGA Professional. The clubhouse includes a golf simulator installed in 2019 with more than 60 courses and interactive sports games, a swimming pool, tennis courts, happy hour at the bar, and a pro shop open to members and the public for gear, apparel, and club repair.
