Prestwick Golf Club

Prestwick Golf Club hosted the first Open Championship in 1860 and served as its home until 1925, making it one of the most historically significant venues in golf. Located in Scotland, United Kingdom, this private 18-hole links was laid out by Tom Morris and opened in 1851. The course has also hosted the Amateur Championship in 1888, 1893, and 1899, the Dunlop Masters Tournament in 1956, the Penfold-Swallow Tournament in 1958, the Scottish Ladies Amateur Championship in 1978, 2004, and 2014, the Scottish Amateur Championship in 1979 and 2017, the British Ladies' Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship in 2013, and the Boys' Amateur Championship in 2014. Rated 4.8 by 50+ Hole19 golfers. Inside the clubhouse, the Dining Room serves a three-course lunch, and the Card Room offers a post-round drink in less formal surroundings.
