Portlethen Golf Club

Portlethen Golf Club co-hosted the 2021 Scottish Amateur Mens Championship and has served as host for the Scottish PGA Northern Open — a record that reflects the layout's standing in the northeast of Scotland, United Kingdom. Designed by Donald Steel and opened in 1989, this 18-hole par-72 parkland course works through mature broadleaf trees and across the Findon burn, which reappears as a key feature on two of the closing holes. The 15th is a right-to-left dogleg where the burn runs moat-like across the green entrance. The 18th, a par-5 of 502 yards, runs the full length of a drystone dyke from tee to green before the burn crosses again 100 yards short of the putting surface. The course is rated 4.5 by 50+ Hole19 golfers. Practice facilities include a four-bay covered driving range with an open area beyond, a sizeable putting green near the 1st tee, and a short-game area with two target greens, bunkers, and space for pitch shots. The clubhouse restaurant seats up to 120 diners with views over the course, and the bar is open from 11am daily with uninterrupted views of the fairways.
