Orsett Golf Club is a private, par-72 heathland course stretching over 6,600 yards in Orsett, England, United Kingdom, designed by James Braid and opened in 1899. The layout moves through established woodland and heath-land features, with gorse and deep rough defining the margins. A deep rivetted bunker greets players at the first hole, setting the tone early. Oliver JamesJune 24, 2019Orsett Golf Club is a must play course and one of the best layouts in Essex. Theres a big mixture of hole types from straight and flat too high up dog leg tee shots. Not a long course by any means, no need to be a big hitter (I used my driver once) and most greens are reachable in regulation. The Greens are fast but not much undulation makes reading the green a lot easier than other courses. I found there was a slight flaw regarding tee times as the course doesn’t use actual time slots, you que on the 1st tee and wait your time, which resulted in very slow play.

Scott WebbJune 10, 2016The course is brutal. The rough is proper rough and over knee high. It’s a nice layout and the greens are very fast. Fairways are dry so you get lots of bounce. Course plays shorter than it’s yardage in the summer. Be straight or lose lots of balls.
