Description
Old Warson Country Club, a private 18-hole course in Ladue, Missouri, was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1954. Rolling terrain and the Noroton River winding through the layout shape the round across 6,901 yards from the back tees. The course holds a notable distinction as the first golf course recognized as a bird sanctuary by the National Audubon Society, and it is regularly ranked among the best in Missouri by Golf Digest. Its tournament record is extensive: the club has hosted the 1971 Ryder Cup Matches, the 1957 Western Amateur, the 1962 Trans-Mississippi Men's Championship, the 1999 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, the 2009 U.S. Women's Amateur, and the 2016 Senior Amateur Championship.
