Description
Oitavos Dunes is a private, 18-hole links course in Cascais, Lisbon, Portugal, designed by Arthur Hills and opened in 2001. The layout moves through sand dunes and umbrella pines with views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Sintra Mountains. Hole 14 is set against one of the best views in golf and the westernmost point in Europe. The finishing par four at hole 18 is rated among the best in Europe. Golf Magazine ranked Oitavos Dunes in its Top 100 Courses in the World for 2017/18 and its Top 100 Golf Resorts for 2024/25. The course holds a Gold Signature Sanctuary award from Audubon International and is a member of Platinum Clubs of the World. It is rated 4.7 by 300+ Hole19 golfers. Practice options include a pitching and chipping area. The clubhouse includes the Verbasco restaurant, serving farm-and-sea-inspired starters, tapas, fresh fish, meats, and pastas made with local ingredients, alongside a bar offering refreshing drinks and classic golf foods. A pro shop, caddie master service, changing rooms with lockers, and equipment hire are also available.

Samuel FallawJune 07, 2026The course is a very good shape. The greens are excellent and everything is well taken care of. Interesting layout with a good mix of difficulty. There is a little confusion with the starting times and if people have checked in or not. All staff were very pleasant and proffessional. Second round and it is a very windy Golf Course. Most holes are either directly into or directly down wind, which is pretty typical for a seaside golf course. A few hills but very walkable with beautiful scenery. Highly recommended if you're in the Cascais area.
