Designed in 2001 by the famous American celebrity architect Arthur Hills, Oitavos Dunes is considered to be one of the finest and best golf courses in the world. Given the rank of 58th in the Top 100 ranking in 2015 by Golf Magazine, it is ranked number 1 in Portugal. It is the first golf course in Europe and second in the world to be awarded the prestigious Audubon International Signature Sanctuary Program for its environmental charter.
