Northumberland Golf Club has hosted The Open Championship Qualifying Series and The Open Regional Qualifier, placing this private Newcastle upon Tyne club among the courses that matter when Open spots are on the line. Designed by Harry Shapland Colt and James Braid and opened in 1898, the layout spans 28 holes. Rated 4.4 by 60+ Hole19 golfers. Practice facilities include an extensive practice area with ball dispenser, high-spec artificial turf and grass tees, a recently extended putting green, and a chipping area. The clubhouse bar is a spacious oak-panelled room with a large bay window looking down the 1st and 18th fairways. The dining room seats 70, with views down the 18th fairway and food freshly prepared by the clubhouse team. Additional spaces include the Colt Lounge, a Card Room used for TV, meetings, and dining, and a terrace overlooking the 18th green.
