Negros Ocidental Golf & Country Club

Negros Ocidental Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole, par 70 layout spread across 40 hectares in Bacolod, Philippines — built on what was once a sugar plantation. The course is essentially flat, but its designers countered the terrain with winding, doglegged fairways that demand careful shot-making. Several are tight enough that club selection and placement matter on nearly every hole. Wind is the defining challenge here: on blustery days, even a short par 3 can feel unreachable into a headwind, and local golfers speak of the gusts with a mix of respect and exasperation. The greens are planted with Egyptian Bermuda grass, introduced to the course in 1965 and well adapted to the local climate. They remain in solid condition today.
