Description
Montebello Golf Course has a history stretching back to 1928, when it was designed by architect Max Behr as a private country club. The City of Montebello purchased the property in 1941, opening it to the public as a municipal course. Spread across 120 acres, the 18-hole championship layout underwent a significant remodel in 1998–99, reopening on May 7, 1999. The work, led by architects David Rainville and Gary Bye, introduced three lakes along with all-new greens, tees, bunkers, and cart paths. Today, Montebello Golf Course is recognized as one of the best municipal courses in Southern California, welcoming golfers from local and distant communities alike.
