Mare Island Golf Club

Mare Island Golf Club is a historic par-70 course in Vallejo, California, measuring 6,150 yards from the blue tees. Originally opened in 1892, it holds the distinction of being the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River. The 18 holes offer two distinct experiences. The front nine follows a traditional design with small greens and tight, tree-lined fairways. The back nine was redesigned by Robin Nelson in 1999 into a links-style layout, featuring rolling hills, undulating fairways, and open greens. Situated on an island completely surrounded by water, the course offers seaside views throughout the round. Depending on where you stand, you can take in San Pablo Bay on one side and the Napa River on the other — and on a clear day, the Golden Gate Bridge is visible in the distance.
