Legends Golf & Resort (Heathland) is a par-71, 18-hole layout in Red Hill, South Carolina, designed by Tom Doak to evoke the grand traditions of British Isles links golf. Holes draw inspiration from celebrated courses such as St. Andrews alongside lesser-known gems like Lahinch and Cruden Bay. Most holes are free of high vegetation, giving the course a visual openness rare in the area. The primary challenges come from a persistent, unobstructed breeze, strategically placed bunkers, and deep rough that tightly borders every fairway. Greenside bunkers are notably deep, demanding creative recovery shots. GOLF Magazine named Heathland one of the Top 10 New Resort Courses in the World in 1990. The design is accessible to players of all skill levels, and the course is rated 4.3 by Hole19 golfers — making it one of the most-played courses in South Carolina on Hole19.

Allen HinesJuly 10, 2016Putting greens were being aerated, like putting on the beach, bunkers poor condition very disappointed in course. Our group of eight tee times were made months in advance and there was no mention of maintenance being done. Have played course numerous times while visiting Myrtle Beach and was always impressed. Two of the three courses were under maintenance.
