Lakewood Golf Club

Lakewood Golf Club is a public 18-hole, par-72 course in New Orleans, Louisiana, designed by Ron Garl and opened in 1961. It is one of the most-played courses in Louisiana on Hole19. The course has a notable tournament history, having hosted the New Orleans Open from 1963 to 1988, along with USG Championships and Southern Golf Association Championships. Hole 18 is a 444-yard closing hole with bunkers shaped like flames set in red sand, a tribute to New Orleans Firefighters. Practice facilities include two putting greens covering 25,000 square feet of putting surface. A nationally recognized year-round junior golf program runs weekly clinics on site. The fully stocked golf shop is available to players, and a temporary clubhouse provides 2,500 square feet of indoor dining plus a covered patio. A permanent clubhouse is planned within the next few years.
