Ranked 52nd in England and 24th among GB & Ireland heathland courses by National Club Golfer in 2025, and 2nd best in Suffolk by Golf Monthly, it is rated 4.7 by 50+ Hole19 golfers. The course sits on high ground with natural contours, heather, lakes, bunkers, and undulating greens. The par-4 5th, stroke index one, plays over a sloped fairway to a two-tier green ringed by bunkers. The 7th requires one of the longest carries on the course and closes what the club calls Purdis's Amen Corner. Access is private. The clubhouse serves brunch, and two single-seater ride-on scooters are available for those who need them.
