Hiawatha Golf Club

Hiawatha Golf Club sits alongside Lake Hiawatha in south Minneapolis, built on dredged fill material from what was once a swampy area called Rice Lake. Construction began in 1929, the clubhouse opened in 1932, and the course welcomed its first rounds in 1934. The 18-hole layout is generally flat with mature trees and small greens. Two fairways and four tees border the lake directly, while Minnehaha Creek winds through the back nine. Twelve ponds and 30 sand traps are spread strategically across the course, adding consistent challenge throughout. Extensive renovations to the front nine in 1993 and the back nine in 1999 brought a championship-caliber experience to golfers of all abilities. Hiawatha Golf Club is one of the most-played courses in Minnesota on Hole19, rated 3.4 by Hole19 golfers.
