Difficult course, but that means you get very interesting/challenging layout. Good condition and a grand old clubhouse. Well worth a visit (just don’t expect your handicap to come down after playing it!)

Hallowes is a tricky little gem set in the Derbyshire hills . I have played here two or three times before but I am still amazed by the treachery of the greens . A decent test from tee to green but that's when the test begins . Subtle slopes and lightning quick for the most part two putts is rarely guaranteed . Slope rating of only 118 ? Not sure how they derive this but any golfer will do well to play to their handicap here . The eighteenth green in particular will sort the men out from the boys . Then , a nice friendly clubhouse serving nice bar food and excellent draught bitter . All in all a great place for a round of golf with a challenge.
